New Delhi: Though, in the latest WHO report, New Delhi is not among the top ten most polluted cities of world, the air that every Dilliwala breathes in is still extremely toxic.
Pune-based India Institute of Tropical Metereology (IITM) recently conducted a study in Delhi and revealed that Delhi’s air pollution is reducing life expectancy of the residents by 6.4 years, reported The Times of India.
The popular daily said in its report that IITM scientists, in collaboration with National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), have raised concern over falling air quality and the need to improve the very same in the national capital.
The researchers have recommended to urgently map sources of pollution and their contribution in making Delhi an unhealthy city.
